Standox introduces new special effect red mixing tint

29 May 2024 – As one of the primary colours, red is often linked to fire, power and love. Unsurprisingly, it is also one of the most popular chromatic car colours on new cars according to Axalta’s 70th Global Automotive Color Popularity Report for 2023. In order to help refinishers repair these OEM colours right the first time, Standox has launched Basecoat Hybrid Special Effect Mix 107 Volcano Red. This highly chromatic mixing tint with unique effects and very good hiding power, helps to match many popular OEM red effect colours perfectly.

The new Basecoat Hybrid Special Effect Mix 107 Volcano Red is a hybrid mixing tint for both the Standoblue and Standohyd Plus basecoat systems. It is an intense and highly-chromatic red with unique effects, including a colour flop from red to dark red. The specialised colour that bodyshops will consider “limited use” comes in sustainable 100ml bottles made from 50% recycled plastic.

Jason Hopkins, United Kingdom and Ireland Country Manager Axalta/ U-POL, says, “Basecoat Hybrid Special Effect Mix 107 Volcano Red is the best choice for professionals and is a trusted solution to repair shades such as Audi’s LZ3C Sevilla Red, Kia’s DWR Dawning Red and Tesla’s PR01 Ultra Red. This tint ensures right first-time colour matches, meaning the best quality results, every time and fostering repeat custom for our end-users’ customers – something that is vital in today’s economy.”

The colour formulas for Basecoat Hybrid Special Effect Mix 107 Volcano Red are now available in Standowin iQ, Standox's colour retrieval software.
