Axalta Named as a Global Partner to BMW Group in Over 50 Countries

Axalta has been named as a recommended refinish supplier for BMW Group where BMW private paint label, ColorSystem, is not present. The new agreement, effective from January 2025, is valid for several years and includes BMW Group’s network of dealerships and collision repair shops in over 50 countries worldwide.

The shortage of skilled labour in bodyshops, particularly refinishers, is a complex issue. Attracting talent to the industry requires alignment of several multifaceted points: it’s an industry that has a historic reputation for being hands-on, manual, dirty and potentially dangerous; today’s young people don’t expect a job for life but rather will “test and taste” different careers; and refinishers and mechanics have little to no visibility with car owners so they may struggle to find a true sense of job satisfaction.
